My mom used to have a betamax rental shop. And everytime she gets new videos, my sis, bro & friends will screen every  tape just to check the quality.

Most of the tagalog videos she got are of Sharon Cuneta, you know, when she was younger and used to be paired with William Martinez and Roel Santiago. And we’d watch it over and over because, I have to admit, all of Sharon Cuneta movies are good to watch.

Let me correct that, most of the Sharon Cuneta movies not paired with Andrew E are good if not great.

So I spotted these videos from youtube about the top 10 Sharon Cuneta movies. See if you can remember them.

Bill Gates organized an enormous session to recruit a new CEO for Microsoft Europe.

Exactly 5,000 candidates assembled in a large room. One candidate is MARIO DIMACULANGAN.

Bill Gates: Thank you for coming. Those who do not know JAVA may leave.

2,000 people leave the room.
MARIO says to himself, ‘I do not know JAVA but I have nothing to lose if I stay. I’ll give it a try.

Bill Gates: Candidates who never had experience in managing more than 500 people may leave.

2,000 people leave the room.
Mario says to himself “I never managed anybody but myself, but I have nothing to lose if I stay. What can happen to me?” So he stays.

Bill Gates: Candidates who do not have management diplomas may leave.

500 people leave the room.
Mario says to himself, “I left high school at 15 but what have I got to lose?” So he stays in the room.

Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo-Croat to leave.

498 people leave the room.

Mario says to himself, “I do not speak one word of Serbo-Croat but what do I have to lose?” So he stays and finds himself with one other candidate. Everyone else has gone.

Bill Gates joined them and said “Apparently you are the only two candidates who speak Serbo – Croat, so I’d now like to hear you have a conversation together in that language.”

Calmly, Mario turns to the other candidate and says “Ano ba yan, dong?”

The other candidate answers “Ewan ko, pare.”

Filipino clerk jailed 4 weeks for filming woman’s skirt
Nov 16, 2007

By Elena Chong, Court Correspondent
A FILIPINO clerk was jailed for four weeks on Friday for using his mobile phone to take a picture from under a woman’s skirt.

Alex Peralta Cinco 36, pleaded guilty to insulting the modesty of a 26-year-old woman on an escalator at The Heeren, Orchard Road, on Aug 9.

A court heard that the woman was shopping there with a 37-year-old man when the latter noticed Cinco placing his cellphone beneath her skirt without her knowledge.

The cellphone was flipped over with the camera function facing upwards.

When the escalator reached Level 4, the couple approached Cinco and asked to see the contents of the cellphone. Cinco handed it over after the man said they were going to call the police.

Cinco, a first offender, said in mitigation that he came to Singapore to work and hoped to continue working here.

He said he was sorry for what he had done, and asked the court to give him a chance.

Judge May Mesenas said a jail sentence was in order as such cases have gone up, and there was a danger of photographs taken with cellphones being circulated in the Internet.

Cinco could have been jailed for up to one year of fined or both for the offence.

Police statistics show that ‘upskirt’ filming cases have been rising yearly.

Last year, there were 50 cases of such outrage of modesty offences using electronic gadgets. This is nearly double the 28 cases in 2004. In 2005, there were 39 cases.

The culprits tend to snap ‘upskirt’ pictures, though others are also using modern technology and even smaller video cameras to peep into showers.

I really do hope that this is an isolated case. I can understand if the offender is a high school boy. You know, that’s the time when young boys gets their hormones going. But a 36 year old offender?!? C’mon, there’s gotta be something wrong with this Alex Peralta Cinco.

I’m not even going to defend this Cinco’s action. Boy, a mongrel sniffing his own ass is smarter than you by now.

MANILA, Philippines — Imagine going to Manila Bay and coming face-to-face with a shark or even a school of fierce barracudas.

Come December, this awesome scene will be experienced by Filipino adults and children alike with the completion of the Manila Ocean Park just behind the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park.

The P1-billion project of Singaporean and Malaysian investors is the first world-class marine park to adopt a “fusion concept,” according to Manila Ocean Park president Lim Chee Yong.

Seems to be a good idea. It’s good to hear that the nation still takes step forward even in the midst of all these political hoo-has.

This will certainly attract all sorts of tourists. And when there are tourists, it’s bound to bring in more jobs and more income. Good.. good.

I do hope that they did address the security matter when this theme park opens. So goodluck and let’s not jinx this good thing.

What’s going on with the Philippine Government?

Six years ago, Joseph Estrada was ousted from the office.. convicted of plunder “beyond reasonable doubt” on September 12, 2007.. and then pardoned by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo just last October 26, 2007.

If you’re an employee working on a project for several years, trying to make it best damn project there ever will be. Then you encounter all the ups and downs, the roller coaster ride from hell, and you survive it. You finish your job, passed the user acceptance test and deploy it. Your boss praises you, everyone tells you that it’s all worth the trouble, and then a month later, your boss scraps your project.

A scenario that Ombudsman Simeon Marcelo would certainly understand. After all, he just got OWNED by the government.

Estrada pardon makes lead prosecutor sick

MANILA, Philippines — For the lead prosecutor who spent almost six years building a case against deposed President Joseph Estrada, the recent pardon granted to the convicted plunderer was apparently too much for his mind and body to bear.

“I’m having bouts of insomnia again,” former Ombudsman Simeon Marcelo confided, when asked Tuesday how he was taking the executive clemency extended by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to Estrada just six weeks after his conviction.

[News excerpt from inquirer.net]

But if there’s one thing that I admire about this, is that it looks to me that GMA’s advisers (and GMA herself as well) made a good move when clemency was given to the defunct president, Joseph Estrada. Just imagine,  he got pardoned on the 26th, Friday, when the stockmarket is closing and businesses are facing a long holiday.

Not much effect on the country’s economy, well, for now. We do well know that this will cause more divisions amongst the elitists and the masses, and pinoys against other pinoys.

And of course, let’s not forget our dear militia…

“A president must never lose sight of the national interest. It would be a terrible calamity,” pahayag ni Ramos.

[News excerpt from abs-cbnnews.com]

Let’s just say this is all like a game of chess. You must know your enemies and plan your moves well ahead. That’s what GMA did.

Sad to say, it’s always the pawns that needs to be sacrificed.
