So how was your Christmas? =)

Ours turned out to be great. Lotsa gifts for the kids. Celebrated parties with dear friends. Shopped gifts with the wife. It was really great.

To top it all, I got this from my wife. A Star Wars Unleashed Shadow Stormtrooper.

Actually, I was torn between two loves. A love for sneakers and a love for toys. I wanted to get new kicks, but I guess this time, I’ll try something new.

Turns out, that it’s a good choice. I’m now in search of SW Unleashed Exclusive toys (those that comes in tube packaging). Also, I’m looking to get some Transformers Masterpiece, expecially Starscream.

Yeah, yeah. Geeky stuff, you say.  Try to ask me the value for each of these toys after 5 years and you’ll know what I mean.

Anyway, I wanna say thanks to my wife for really really really looking for a toy shop that sells the toys in my wishlist. Hehehehe

Book of Secrets

The answer is: “Missing U

It’s days like this will make you want to say “Man, I’m lucky”. I caught a morning train to work, not so crowded. Got to my morning and afternoon meetings on time. It wasn’t a hot day. When I was walking outside, I managed to get to where I want to be before the rains. I got to see RBK’s Answer XI, at 20% discount (which I’m going to get soon). My wife picked me up just in time to go to a movie event. Got a parking spot right away. Went to a free movie screening of the National Treasure for free. Won a Nintendo DSLite in a contest. Bought some good donuts. And managed to drive home just in time for Boston Legal.

Unbelievable? Hmm.. let’s see how I got here.

Yesterday night, my wife, eldest kid, and friends went to this promotional talk on the Silva Method. It was nice. They showed a bit of the film called “The Secret“, which one of our friends recently passed us a copy of.

It reminded me very much about OCCI’s LEAP, which we went thru a couple of years ago. Basically, it tells you how to be a master of your destiny. In this program, you have to call your coach every end of the day your “wins”.

What will pick your brain is this. In life, everything is up for grabs. You just have to be open to it. You must really really really really want things to happen for you. And you act on this. Then the universe will provide.

That’s it. BE POSITIVE.

Call it luck.. call it a Nostradamus probability.. call it what you will. You just have to start things in a positive note. Then things will happen for you.

Fearless

December 19, 2007

Here’s a pickle. If I were to post just one entry today, what would I choose it to be? Fearless mice or Jamie Lynn Spear’s pregnancy? Well, let science prevail.

Japanese scientists design fearless mice

All mice are afraid of cats except genetically modified one that Japanese scientists say shows no fear and reveals new traits of mammal behavior. Scientists at Tokyo University say they have used genetic engineering to successfully switch off a mouse’s instinct to cower at the smell or presence of cats – showing that fear is genetically hardwired and not learned through experience, as commonly believed, the AP reports

Christmas is just around the corner, and everybody’s busy doing their christmas shopping.

My eldest daughter has her wishlist. She even made her baby sister’s wishlist for her. And my wife has her wishlist.

If you’re interested in giving me something other than collectible sneakers, here’s mine.

Where’s WALL-E?

Do you know Wall-E? I don’t. I’ve only heard of him 30 minutes ago. Apparently, Wall-E is Pixar’s next big summer movie for 2008.

The thing about Pixar is that these guys are very creative. They’re lightyears ahead in delivering entertaining stories with values. They keep on pushing the envelope, that they set this pace only few can keep up with.

Ok, here’s the interesting part. You may have noticed that in some of Pixar’s movies, there are characters who get their cameos during the film. Like Flick (Bug’s Life) gets into Buzz Lightyear’s scene in Toy Story.. or Nemo getting into Boo and Sully’s scene in Monsters Inc. It’s something like the Hidden Mickey.

Here’s were it gets more interesting.

There’s this guy named Bernie W who wrote in a question to the Jim Hill media blog asking:

Can you please help me win a bet at work? A co-worker of mine says that WALL-E makes a brief cameo appearance in “Ratatouille.” More importantly, this guy has bet me $100 that I’ll never ever be able to find that robot in this movie.

So, they made this special entry called “A special “Where’s WALL-E” edition of Why For?”

Jim Hill’s back with even more answers to your Disney-related questions. This time around, Jim tries to put together a definitive list of where the in-jokes & self references in Pixar’s feature films & shorts are located

After the jump, you’ll find yourself amused on how the folks at Pixar carefully place in-jokes in their films.

So go ahead, you’ll find yourself saying “Ah, ganun pala!

Of course this is a spoof. Enjoy =)

This place is just a stone throw away from Singapore… well, maybe 2 stones.

Good guys go to heaven, bad guys go to Pattaya

The Czech Republic and Holland in Europe as well as Egypt and Thailand in Asia rank first in sex tourism. Egypt attracts young girls and middle-aged housewives whose only desire is to have violent and non-committal love affairs. Thailand, in its turn, is real Eden for men. It is a country of very low prices (one U.S. dollars equals 40 Thai bahts) and women of easy virtue. Money determines everything there.

Pattaya, a small resort town on the Gulf of Siam beach, two hours far from Bangkok, is the place of lustful entertainment can be found almost everywhere. One of the most popular T-shirt wordings runs: “Good guys go to heaven, bad guys go to Pattaya”.
